How have you been doing this week? I hope you are safe, healthy, and are coping well with the current uncertainty.
I wanted to share a few things to do this weekend and to remind you that, no matter how uncertain, insecure, scary, and out-of-control things may be in the outside world, there are still things that are 100% in your control.
Let's focus on what that is.
Let's work on the things you CAN control still (and I recorded a new podcast episode all about this, which is coming out on Tuesday, so stay tuned!) and let's start with the physical body (mental and emotional health will come separately).
HOW TO BEST TAKE CARE OF YOUR PHYSICAL BODY
I do QUITE a lot to keep my immune system working at high levels right now, and this is something that is fully in your control! So here are a few things I've been doing daily:
1) I'M MAKING SLEEP A PRIORITY
Even though this is something that is part of my health routine anyway, I notice how I've slept quite some more hours in the last two weeks (and allowed myself to do that!).
While you sleep, your parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the resting, recovering functions in the body, gets activated. This means that your cells are being repaired, your immunity can get back into balance, and toxins are being prepared to be eliminated from the body.
So: go to bed a little earlier, set the alarm for an hour later (you probably don't have to commute to work now, right?!). Turn off your phone at night. Take a cleansing shower before bed. Make your bedroom cozy and beautiful, a place to relax and recover.
And that means no working from bed, no workouts in your bedroom, or office supplies in there! Your bedroom needs to become a place for ultimate rest and peace!
2) I PRACTICE REIKI
Reiki is an energy healing technique that I learned a few years ago. I have recently started working with clients on cleansing, balancing, and charging their subtle body's energy fields with distant treatments.

4) I USE ESSENTIAL OILS FOR IMMUNITY AND INNER CALM

5) I MOVE MY BODY DAILY
Wether it's a walk in the forest, some morning yoga, stretching, dancing, shaking, or an actual workout, I have been moving my body daily.
Stagnation and blockages are what keep us stuck, keep us in a downward spiral of thoughts, worries, and worst case scenarios. When you move your body, you move your energy.
There's no way you can move and feel the same as before. How you move, moves you.
Let's start with taking care of your physical body first. Once that is in place, which will already change a LOT about how you feel, we can move on with the mind.
