Today is Mother's Day, and I want to talk to you about something that I haven't openly talked about yet in my community: motherhood. While 90% of my close friends are already mothers, I currently couldn't be much further away from motherhood than I am right now.
I thought by age 30, I would be happily married.
I thought by age 30, I would have a child, or at least be pregnant.
I thought by age 30, I would be an "adult" and have life figured out.
Turns out that I am neither married, nor have children, and definitely don't have my life figured out at all. AND I am actually 33 now. π
But here's what I do know: Over the past 6 years, I've created a lifestyle where if I get pregnant tomorrow, I am ready for all of it. I am ready to be a mom.
The results of a stressful lifestyle
Until June of 2015, I was working my butt off, working shifts from 6am to 10pm, any day between Mondays and Saturdays. Here are some things that were my reality back then:
I constantly cancelled on family and friends, because I was so tired after work from seeing thousands of customers in a day at the Apple Store (where I used to be a Store Manager at).
I skipped my workouts several times a week, because I was physically tired and just wanted to lay in bed and do nothing.
I was a complainer and experienced some sort of stress every single day at work.
I knew that this was not the lifestyle I wanted to welcome a baby into.
I knew that this was not the lifestyle I wanted to live and share with the love of my life.
I knew that this was not the lifestyle I wanted to role model to my kids one day.
The glow life as a mother
My parents were always at home growing up. I don't remember a single breakfast or lunch where we wouldn't be together the 4 of us. And I want the same for my children. I want to be there when they wakeup in the morning. I want to sleep in with them (#manifesting lol), have breakfast together, and be there and watch them grow up.
(Disclaimer: No judgment, if you desire something completely different, that's GREAT! This is just what I personally dream of).
I want to make time for my babies and prioritize them every day (and of course myself along the way, too!) AND I will also be working and continue pursuing my mission of helping women glow - from home, of course, which is why I created the business and lifestyle I am living right now.
What does your dream reality as a mother look like?
Working shifts full time would not allow me to get anywhere close to this dream future of being a mother and actually having time for my children. So in 2015, I started making changes. And the life I live today, I call it The Glow Life. A life where I have time and location freedom to do whatever I desire with it. A life where I choose when and how much I want to work. A life where I get to do something that fulfills my heart so much so I want to hug the whole wide world sometimes.
A life where I choose what's most important to me - and for me, that's always going to be my loved ones and family.
I am not saying you need to quit your job and build your own business at all (although it is a great gift for sure!). None of this is necessary to get glowing. There are so many ways to live a glowing life that allows you the freedom you desire - with or without being a mom.
And your no. 1 priority right now is to find out: What does this glow life look like for you? Click here to find out how to work with me and get started with building the foundations for your own glow life.
Sending you much love, beautiful! Happy Mother's Day!
