Alarms on Sundays: Do or Don't?

Happy Sunday, beautiful!

Let me guess: you set an alarm to wakeup this morning, so you wouldn't waste your time sleeping and resting - because you have so much to do, finish, and accomplish today.

And maybe, today was an exception and you didn't set an alarm :)

But I've found that 90% of my perfectionist clients wakeup with an alarm on Sundays (and of course Saturdays, too!), because there's just so much to do. And to be transparent: I often used to do the same, because I didn't want to miss out on anything on my day off!

Maybe you...

  • have a long to do list for the weekend

  • maybe even need to open your laptop and work

  • need to pay your bills and get groceries

  • want to workout and meditate

  • need to do the laundry and get the house back in order

  • want to see family and call friends

And all of this is fun and great.

But if you're battling with exhaustion, feel tired every morning you wakeup, and often have a headache... YOU NEED REST.

Instead, what most perfectionists do is put more pressure on themselves and their beautiful bodies to wakeup with an alarm clock.

You see, in life, we need to find the balance between work and rest.

Between action and recovery.
Between giving and receiving.
Between doing and being.

If you're constantly doing, giving, and in action, you have no time to recover, receive, and be. Your sympathetic nervous system is hyperactive 24/7 and fuels your stress levels, your anxiety, your overwhelm, and your low self-worth (but more about that in another email).

This is why we talk about work-life balance (not work-work balance). We work and we have time to live.

Most probably, you don't have much time for life at the moment, and I get it, because I used to be in those exact same shoes a few years ago, too.
