YOLO. You Only Live Once.
While many people use this acronym to "justify" going to parties every possible day, getting drunk, smoking, doing drugs or other toxic things, I see this a little differently:
I believe that since we only live once, it's even more important to live the best and happiest life we can. #theglowlife
Being healthy, feeling well-rested daily, doing meaningful work that makes a difference in this world, surrounding yourself with people you're obsessed with and can talk to about deep life stuff for hours is a blessing.
I personally want to live a happy life as long as I possibly can! What about you?
The Science that Supports Your Glow
It is no rocket science to know that smoking, drinking, lots of late nights, and fast food impact your health negatively.
It is also no rocket science to know that excessive stress affects your mental and emotional health, which impacts your relationship as well as your performance at work. Stress also impacts your physical health by putting you into fight or flight mode and turning off all healthy systems for recovery, rejuvenation, and rest (aka everything you need to glow!).
If you keep putting a lot of pressure on you, overwork yourself every week just because you feel bad for leaving the office at 5pm, and refuse to take proper lunch breaks to disconnect and recharge, you are directly shortening your life.
And your glow gets turned off right away.
How to Choose Yourself
You have a choice here, beautiful.
Option 1: To live a long, healthy, meaningful, and fulfilled, glowing life.
Option 2: To stay stuck in the hamster wheel of the Western world that tells you that you need to work harder and do more, because you're never enough.
>> What have you been putting off forever? (e.g. taking a full weekend off?)
>> What are you waiting for to come to you at the "right time"? (e.g. taking the first step on your dream business? The right idea or perfect plan?)
>> What do you know you should do, but are not doing? (e.g. closing your laptop at 6pm? Starting a workout routine?)
>> What should you stop doing, but keep telling yourself you can't? (e.g. netflixing every night? Mindless scrolling through IG?)
I want to kindly remind you that YOLO and the only moment to do these things is now. Today. This weekend. This month.
How to stop putting things off
It's simply a decision you have to take for yourself. A decision where you say that you are no longer available to put things off, to wait to live your life.
Let's stop putting things off that you desire! Stop putting things off that you dream of. Stop holding yourself back with toxic behavior that you know is not good for you.
How would it feel to step into the version of you that just does the things she desires? You can be her. You are enough, and you are doing enough, and you don't need to be "ready" for what you desire, because you already are.
My wish is that you see how beautiful you are and how much more you deserve than you even dare dreaming of.
Much love,
Martina xx
