The current paradigm of work/life balance is still fairly rigid, even with the changes that have occurred because of the recent pandemic and more and more women working from home. In fact, navigating this new remote or hybrid work landscape can add even more stress, because there's often no physical boundary between your office and your home. When you're working from your comfy couch, it's so easy to get pulled into working extra hours and getting back on your laptop after dinner, and perfectionists and high achieving women (which probably includes you!) are the ones feeling it the most. It's no secret that stress and demanding lifestyles can effect our health, right? So it goes without saying that you might be feeling less than your best health wise.
This is why I feel every successful woman could benefit from working with a health coach.
What exactly is a health coach, though?
When I tell people that I'm a Health Coach, they usually ask "so you teach people how to eat healthy and workout?". Someone I recently met on a walk said "Nice! I just started going to the gym!"
Well, that's not what I do.
As a Health Coach, I am neither a nutritionist, nor a personal trainer, nor a dietician. Health Coaching is not counseling, it's not consulting, it's not mentoring, it's not teaching, and it's also not educating (although it may be occasionally).
A Health Coach is your accountability partner
Coaching is a partnership, not a hierarchy of expert > patient. As my client, you and I partner together to figure out what your next steps are towards the healthy, calm, and glowing life you desire. (Click here to learn more about how we can work together!)
Example: This can include something like sleeping better, reducing the coffee addiction you may have, moving your body daily, or reducing your screen time and mindless social media scrolling, so you can feel better and be less stressed.
I'm not the expert who knows it all, and I'm especially not an expert in you. Have you ever tried telling a loved one what they should do differently? ;) I'm sure you would agree that it mostly doesn't work! So it is not my job to tell you what you should do.
The goal of Health Coaching is sustainable behavior change
We want you to sustainably change your behavior through building new and healthy habits and routines that reflect the lifestyle you dream of (aka the Glow Life). This can only be achieved through intrinsic motivation (motivation from within).
Example: This can include making it a priority to get off work at a certain time and not overwork yourself, setting up a beautiful and slow (mini) morning routine where you take care of yourself first before you open your laptop or check Instagram and work emails.
While I am here to motivate and support you, you won't see results unless you find the motivation to do it.
You as the client define your goals
You choose what goals you want to work towards over the course of our time together (usually three to six months). I am here to lovingly hold you accountable and help you bust through any limiting beliefs and blocks that come up along the way.
Example: Your goal might be to work part-time to reduce your stress level, so you have more time for yourself or to start a dream business. Your mind might tell you that you can't do that or you're not worthy of it or you won't have enough money, so we will work through these beliefs to enable you to follow your glow dreams.
While I can totally set goals for you, it won't work unless you truly desire to achieve them yourself.
And when you achieve your goals, we dance together and celebrate! In fact, we celebrate a lot, because especially perfectionists are always onto the next thing, before they even acknowledge their progress! That's actually one of the things my client always say they love about working together and adopt into their own lives, which is so beautiful to see!
Having a Health Coach by your side can help you restore balance in your life, enhance your relationships, improve your overall health and well-being, align your job with your values, and find more meaning in your life. These are often the areas that suffer the most when we find a measure of success and all you do is work, eat, sleep, and repeat.
You can have the glowing, fulfilled life you deserve and I can help guide you there. Click here to learn more about the different options of working together or about 1:1 coaching.
